Class Descriptions

Level 1

Chair Exercise - 45-minute chair exercise class for seniors and those with limited mobility designed to increase strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and ease with the activities of daily living. Class concludes with stretching and breathing for a relaxing finish. Free, fitness membership not required / Pre-registration is required, 971.983.5212.

Tai Chi for Better Balance - This class explores a flowing sequence of movements designed to improve strength, balance, and daily physical functioning. The rhythmic, circular movements of this ancient art create an energizing practice as well as a movement-based meditation that can be enjoyed standing or seated in a chair. This class is an evidence-based falls prevention program, recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.

Level 1.5

Gentle Yoga - Enjoy slower-paced, easeful yoga. This comprehensive, harmonious practice explores stretching (asana), breath awareness (pranayama), relaxation (yoga nidra) and classic yoga philosophy. Participants must be able to get up and down off of the floor without assistance and bear weight on hands and knees.

Level 2

World Groove - Like Zumba? Join us for World Groove, an upbeat dance fitness class combining fun dance & fitness moves with great music and effective cueing. You'll have so much fun you won't even know you're exercising!

Powerflow Yoga - Following a centering meditation, this class proceeds with a vigorous sequence of standing yoga postures that require and develop strength, flexibility, mental focus and balance. Movements are linked with breath in the vinyasa style. Class concludes with a series of postures on the mat and a resting meditation. This class is best suited for those who have a regular fitness or yoga practice.

Yoga Pilates Fusion - Strengthen and stretch your whole body with a variety of creative exercises drawing from yoga, Pilates and fitness. Props including stability balls and foam rollers may be used in addition to exercises on the mat.

Mat Pilates - Originally named "Contrology", Pilates is a classical fitness program that integrates core stability, balance, abdominals, and low back exercises to lengthen, strengthen, and tone the whole body.

Conscious Cardio - Conscious Cardio is designed to increase your energy and give you a great workout. It includes mindful aerobic movement using a variety of equipment followed by light weight and core training. Low impact options are given in addition to high. This class is adaptable to many ability levels and will help you increase your endurance, strength, balance and flexibility. Participants should wear clean athletic shoes with nonmarking soles.

Level 3

Bootcamp Express – Increase your fitness level while performing high intensity intervals of cardio and strength exercises. We'll challenge the body each week with a new routine including body weighted exercises, medicine balls, stability balls, free weights, jump ropes and more. This class is best suited for those who have been on a regular and consistent exercise program. Wear clean, supportive shoes that you can run in. Bring your great attitude and a full water bottle!

Class Information

Most classes are one hour in length with the exception of our noon classes, World Groove and Body Balance which are 45-50 minutes in length.

  • Level 1 (beginner) - no experience necessary
  • Level 2 (advanced beginner) - some experience preferred
  • Level 3 (advanced) - experience preferred / personal fitness program of 30+ days recommended
