Babies and Breastfeeding Information, Education & Support (B.A.B.I.E.S.)
As you prepare for childbirth, you should also be making important decisions regarding your new baby's care and health. Choosing to breastfeed is a great start. We are here to help you plan for a successful breastfeeding experience. B.A.B.I.E.S. Clinics are staffed by Legacy Silverton Medical Center obstetric nurses with special training in lactation. These nurses have taken post-graduate courses that specifically prepared them to assist in all routine and special-need breastfeeding situations.
The B.A.B.I.E.S. Clinic accepts most insurances and will bill your insurer for your appointments. All babies born at Legacy Silverton Medical Center are eligible for one appointment to evaluate breastfeeding needs. If moms and babies need additional assistance with breastfeeding, babies with doctors on Silverton Health’s medical staff are welcome to continue lactation services with the B.A.B.I.E.S. Clinic. If you have any questions about eligibility, please call 503.873.1513.
B.A.B.I.E.S. services are offered in cooperation with your healthcare provider. Our staff serves as consultants to you while your care remains under the direct supervision of your own provider. This team approach provides the best possible care for your family.
