Silverton Hospital has been accepted into the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) Reducing Primary Cesareans Project and is the only hospital in the Northwest to participate and only one of three from the West Coast. In total, 21 hospitals from across the United States will be working with ACNM to improve healthy outcomes for mothers and families by focusing on reducing the incidence of first cesarean section in low risk women who have never given birth.
Silverton Health’s Keizer Health Center has been certified as a Reach Out and Read (ROR) site due to the hard work of pediatricians Dr. Jill Pearson and Dr. Scott Hamblin. “Outside of the aspects of instilling a love of reading in kids, we find that the bonding that occurs between parents and children during reading fosters communication and a sense of respect, trust, security and most of all – love,” said Dr. Pearson. “You would be surprised how many parents think it’s not that important, or that they don’t have the time or the resources to provide this crucial part of a child’s development. We intend to change that.”
WOODBURN, Ore. – Dr. Christopher Van Tilburg, author of Anatomy of a Search: Lessons from Mountain Rescue, will be the keynote speaker at the eighth annual Business Health Services conference to be held at Woodburn Health Center, Wednesday, Oct. 21.
Long-time Silverton physician, Denis Dalisky, M.D., recently announced that after working as a private physician for 27 years, he is joining Silverton Health as an employed provider beginning August 1. His practice, Women’s Health Care Professionals, will transition to Silverton Health’s newest clinic, Women’s Health Group.
